Asia Pacific Mediation Forum (APMF) - is a
non-profit regional association of individuals, organizations and
institutions interested in interpersonal, inter-group, community,
trans-cultural and international mediation and conflict management. It is
committed to the use of mediation and other appropriate conflict management or
dispute resolution processes wherever conflicts threaten the well being of
individuals, organizations, communities, and local, state or national
governments in the region. APMF as an organization encourages the exchange of
information related to mediation and conflict transformation usually at its
bi-annual regional conferences.
Since
2001, the Asia Pacific Mediation Forum had co-coordinated five
successful Mediation Conferences throughout the Asia Pacific region (i.e.
Australia, Singapore, Fiji, Malaysia and Thailand). The 6th APMF
conference will be held in the Philippines this December 2013.
Traditionally, the conferences provided an exceptional opportunity for an array
of Asia Pacific mediation through conflict transformation focused academics,
policy makers, practitioners and students to engage in knowledge and skills
sharing, building and networking in a stimulating environment over a three day
time-frame.
