BEST PAPER
The
summit organizing committee will select three best papers. Best papers will be
drawn from the collection of papers that will be presented in the summit. The
winners will receive a plague of recognition, and 100% scholarship for any of
the World Mediation Organization (WMO) – Training Program.

APMF PEACE PRIZE
Traditionally, since its inception in
2001, APMF has awarded a Peace Prize to individuals and organizations who/that
have made significant peace impact in the Asia Pacific region. Previous Peace
Prize recipients include, Jose Ramos Horta, Melanesian Peace Project, and Dam
Joam Metge.
Continuing this tradition, the 2013 APMF
Summit Steering Committee, and APMF as an organization are please to officially
open the nominations process to identify individuals or organizations that meet
the high standards of the APMF Peace Prize. The Peace Prize consists of a sum
of money to further the recipient’s efforts, regional to international
recognition, and media engagement opportunities.
Nominators:
Peace
Prize Nominators must be current APMF members.
Peace
Prize Nominees: An organization or an individual – must be located and
advancing peace within the Asia Pacific Region. Prize nominee may not be a
current APMF member.
HOW TO MAKE A NOMINATION
If you are an
APMF member and wish to nominate someone for the 2013 APMF Peace Prize, please
forward the following information about an individual, group or organization in
the Asia Pacific region who you consider to be worthy of consideration to the
APMF President – dale.bagshaw@unisa.edu.au The
nominee need not be a member of the APMF. The APMF Executive Committee will
select the winner and the prize will be awarded at the 6th APMF Summit in
Manila.
When making a nomination, please include:
- Name
and contact details of the person(s) making the nomination (address,
email, phone, fax).
- Name
of the Individual, Group or Organization being nominated and contact
details – address, country, website, phone, fax and email.
- If
an individual is being nominated – a short Curriculum Vitae and a link to
any of his/her websites, homepages etc.
- If
a group or organization in being nominated – a brief description of who
they are and a link to any websites, homepages.
- A
brief history of the relevant peace activities of the nominee(s) in
the Asia Pacific region (within a time frame).
- A
clear, succinct statement as to why the nominee is worthy of a Peace
Prize.
- Two accompanying letters of recommendation
or references.
Please
note that all Nominations must be complete and will not be accepted after the
closing date, 09 November 2013, as
detailed in the selection process below.
SELECTION
COMMITTEE AND PROCESS
The Peace Prize Selection Committee is composed
of members from both the APMF Executive Committee and the DLSU Summit Steering
Committee.
The
Selection Process will advance as follows:

Nominations process officially open.

09 November
|
Nominations process officially closes. Nominations will
not be accepted after this.

10-30 November
|
Nominations are analyzed & nominees are shortlisted.

01 December
|
Peace Prize Winner selected.
|
|
11 December
|
Peace Prize Winner awarded.
|
AWARD PROCESS
The Peace Prize Winner or Representative
will be formally presented with the APMF
Peace Prize during the Summit’s Closing Ceremony.
The Peace Prize Winner will receive a
plaque of recognition and 1000 AUS & as cash prize from APMF.
Following the awarding, the PEACE PRIZE
WINNER OR REPRESENTATIVE will be offered the opportunity to present their
mediations, other conflict transformation and/or peace-building work, and
engage in dialogue with the summit delegates, nationally, regionally, and
internationally.
